Houseboats
We use the houseboats of only the reputed operators in the State. The houseboats are made of the wood of the jackfruit tree and the furnishings are all made of natural products eg thatched roofs. The houseboats (kettuvalloms in Malayalam) are an improvisation of the large country barges which used to ferry paddy, coconuts etc. many years ago. Food is traditional Kerala and non vegetarian and includes lunch, dinner and breakfast. Vegetarian food and other menus can be provided on request before
the trip. The boat is moored after sunset at the side of a village or paddy field as the rules do not allow cruising on the backwaters after sunset. You are free to walk through the village etc. You can also request the oarsman to stop the houseboat at any picturesque place during the cruise along the backwaters. The trip starts at 12 pm and ends at 10am the next morning.

We use only professional English speaking guides who are trained and recognized by the Govt. of India. Guides are also available for German, Russian, Arabic, Italian, French and Spanish languages.
